Steve was composer and music director of the acclaimed Reading Rainbow TV series from its inception in 1981 through the final episode in 2008.  If you started playing all of that amazing music right now, back-to-back, without stopping, you be still listening to it the day after tomorrow! Over thirty hours of original scoring! During that incredible musical journey his original songs were vocalised by such influential artists as Bobby McFerrin, Phoebe Snow, Chaka Khan, Run DMC and Kermit the Frog. Reading Rainbow holds the record for being the most "adult-watched" PBS kids show ever... didn't they have anything better to do?
